Untold story 1: Embracing the Hiccups and Loving the Journey of podcasting

I preach only what I practice and I am a big fan of straight talk. Here is another bold post right from the inside.

But before you read the blog, here is the disclaimer: The intention behind this post is not to belittle or cast blame on any individual, guest, or participant in the podcasting realm.

We hold immense respect for every individual we’ve had the privilege to collaborate with, irrespective of the circumstances that may have arisen during our podcasting journey.

The purpose of this blog post is to shed light on the multifaceted nature of interview-based podcasting. It aims to share our experiences and the challenges faced in a candid and transparent manner, with the hope that fellow podcasters and enthusiasts can relate to these realities.

We firmly believe that every individual has their reasons and circumstances, and this post is in no way an attempt to question or criticize them. We cherish the varied personalities and interactions that contribute to the colorful landscape of podcasting.

Our utmost gratitude goes out to all the guests, colleagues, and the podcasting community at large, for their support, understanding, and collaboration. Without them, this enriching journey would not be possible.

I toyed with the idea of sharing this blog post for a long time. Friends cautioned me about its potential impact on my reputation, but after months of contemplation, I’ve decided to throw caution to the wind and hit publish.

Let’s dive into the gritty, unfiltered side of interview-based podcasting. For those of us immersed in this world, we know it’s not all smooth sailing. From rescheduled interviews to guests mysteriously vanishing, the journey can be a rollercoaster of frustration. Yet, within these hiccups lies an incredibly enriching journey.

Embrace the Imperfections

Podcasting, much like life, is imperfect. Despite meticulous planning, guests might cancel at the last minute, leaving you disheartened and scrambling to adjust. Countless times, I’ve skipped dinner or raced through chaotic traffic to make it to an interview on time, only to be met with silence from the guest.

The Ghosting Game

Ghosting isn’t just a dating phenomenon-it’s a ghost that haunts podcast hosts too. Some guests express keen interest, share schedules, and then vanish without a trace. The disappointment of their absence after enthusiastic planning is truly perplexing. It’s a head-scratcher, and I’m still trying to fathom why some guests engage only to disappear later.

Enthusiasm Until Getting Recorded

Some guests lose their enthusiasm once the recording is done. They drop off the grid, leaving you wondering what happened after what seemed like an engaging conversation.

Enthusiasm Until Getting Aired

A few guests, even after the episode is live, remain indifferent. They don’t engage, comment, or even acknowledge the effort you’ve put into featuring their story. It’s disheartening, to say the least.

Perseverance Pays Off

Despite these trials, podcasters know that perseverance is their greatest asset. Following up, sending gentle nudges, and enduring occasional silence teaches patience and resilience. It’s a testament to our dedication to sharing compelling content with our audience.

Thickening the Skin

Podcasting introduces you to an array of personalities and situations. From dependable guests to those who vanish, each encounter toughens your skin and molds you into a more adaptable and resilient individual.

Lessons in Humanity

Every twist and turn in this journey teaches us about life’s unpredictability. We’re dealing with human beings, each facing their unique circumstances. This realization fosters empathy and a broader perspective on life.

The Unwavering Passion

Despite the challenges, there’s an undeniable love for this journey. The joy of crafting an episode that impacts someone’s life far outweighs the hurdles faced along the way.

Interview-based podcasting isn’t a smooth sail, but it’s undoubtedly a rewarding one. The obstacles encountered, while disheartening at times, add character and depth to the stories we tell. The imperfect nature of this world makes the successes all the more gratifying.

Here’s to the Journey

So, here’s to the journey-the unpredictable, exciting, and sometimes frustrating adventure that continually molds us into better storytellers and more resilient human beings. Keep on podcasting, for every setback is a stepping stone towards an even more extraordinary story.

In the face of challenges, your resilience and love for what you do shine through. Keep making your mark in the podcasting world!

In the world of podcasting, resilience triumphs over challenges. Keep embracing the journey, for every hiccup only adds depth to your story. 🎙️✨ #PodcastersJourney #EmbraceTheHiccups
