It is not an exaggeration that I’ve not come across even a single person who doesn’t like Petrichor.
Wondering what is petrichor?
Petrichor is the smell of rain
The smell is a combination of oils that come from plants during dry spells and bacteria that live in the soil.
The word comes from the Greek words ‘petra’, meaning stone, and ‘ichor’, which in Greek mythology refers to the golden fluid that flows in the veins of the immortals.
I found out about Petrichor a few years ago, during my exploration for the word of the day as my curiosity drove me to research on the smell of rain.
We are very curious during our childhood, how many of us are enhancing our curiosity quotient as we grow old?
We take many things for granted and may not pay attention to why things are happening that way.
KNOWING THE ANSWERS WILL HELP YOU IN SCHOOL. KNOWING HOW TO QUESTION WILL HELP YOU IN LIFE.

Here is one more example:
What does it take to keep a bicycle upright and moving, without crashing?
While riding and balancing a bicycle can seem simple and effortless, the actual control process used by a human rider is still somewhat of a mystery.
Riding a bicycle resembles balancing a stick vertically on your hand. When the stick is perfectly vertical, the stick will stay balanced on your hand. But if the stick moved even slightly off vertically, the top of the broom will begin to tip and fall towards the ground. You can keep the stick balanced by moving your hand in the direction in which the stick is falling, bringing the stick back into a vertical position.
Keeping the stick balanced is a game of constantly observing the top of the stick lean over, and moving your hand under the stick, over and over and over again, for as long as you long to play the stick balancing game.
In a nutshell, you are keeping the support of the stick (the part of the stick that touches your hand) directly underneath the center of mass of the stick.
While writing this section I got nostalgic about my initial days’ bicycle riding experience during my second standard. I didn’t pay attention to these details of maintaining the center of mass of the bicycle — merely following the instruction of my dad and elder brother.
Why am I sharing these two stories today?
Yesterday evening while I was walking my dog as always I started thinking about the blog ideas for today and felt the need for emphasizing one of the most critical skills of this interesting era i.e. Curiosity.
At one point in time, I used to ask TGV guests what is one thing which they didn’t find answers for.
Because I was curious to know what they are curious about.
Curiosity will take us to the next level, it keeps our minds busy and active.
Keeping curious will open new worlds and possibilities. We will be able to uncover things that are hidden behind the surface of normal life. And if we are curious about something, our mind expects and anticipates new ideas about the subject.
Most importantly, it also kills the boredom, monotony, and routine. New things attract the curious person’s attention.
Curious people are mentally very active because the mental exercise caused by curiosity makes our minds stronger and stronger.
Are you getting curious to understand if it is possible to develop a curiosity quotient?
The answer is YES.
To dig deeper beneath the surface, start asking these questions:
- How does it work?
- What is that?
- Why is it made that way?
- When was it made?
- Who created/invented it?
- Where does it come from?
What, why, when, who, where, and how are the best friends of curious people!
Also, I am curious about how you stay curious. Please share your ideas and thoughts.
JUDGE A MAN BY HIS QUESTIONS RATHER THAN BY HIS ANSWERS.
