A year that inspired me to do more, be more
As we wrap up 2022, I’d like to share a sneak peek into my journey this year. (this is just a snapshot — I am not disclosing everything due to personal and professional reasons)
Let me talk about failures first.
1) Was nominated for BITS Pilani Distinguished Alumni Award(DAA)- but couldn’t crack it.
But I am super optimistic that I will be DAA very soon.
2) Wanted to launch TGV Hindi by this year-end — but couldn’t do it due to too many commitments
3) TGV couldn’t make it to Global 2.5% of the podcasts
4) Guinness Book of world records attempt failed.
5) Couldn’t host a few prominent industry leaders & motivational speakers on The Guiding Voice for milestone episodes.
6) Think Hatke with the TGV newsletter has missed the Wednesday deadline 5 times and the Friday deadline(this time)
7) Couldn’t Monetize the TGV platform yet
8) Couldn’t update http://www.theguidingvoice.net as planned
9) Missed cycling for a few days
Here comes the list of things that went well…!
1) Launched 52 editions of Think Hatke with TGV
2) 113 episodes launched on The Guiding Voice English
3) Launched TGV Telugu(29 episodes released already) on July 24th, 2022 — an auspicious day for me — we celebrated my school alumni meet on account of the 25th anniversary of completing my 10th Standard(that will help you guess my age) — but let me tell you my precise age — I turned 40 this year :)
The same day my wife and I went to Arunachalam( Tiruvannamalai) — and were able to perform Giri Valayam on 25th July with God’s grace
**July 24th is also very special to me, as I joined General Electric in 2006 on the same day.
I’ve also hosted my school principal Mr. E Prabhakar Reddy on both channels.
With the support of Silpa Garre was able to host Mr. Yandamuri Veerendranath on The Guiding Voice(#TGV250) and TGV Telugu (17K views on YouTube)
Also, with her support, I hosted Prominent financial planner CFP Mr. Ram Prasad Mothukuri, on #TGVT25
Hosted Global Top 0.1 podcaster Joe Saul Sehy
4) Officially launched TGV Inspiring Lives volume 1 on Dec 24th, 2022 at Hyderabad.
This Book is dedicated to a wonderful soul, Hansika Tyagi who was our special guest for #TGV225(see the comments for the episode link). She taught me how to live life like an ice cream despite facing the odds
5) Delivered a session on applying Lean Six Sigma in IT/ITes at IT Serve Alliance Phoenix(AZ, USA) Chapter April event
6) Launched my first course #ProductivityMonk on various MOOCs.(Will share the details very soon)
7) Launched my website https://www.naveensamala.com
8) Could attend my brother’s housewarming in the US and he was able to attend my housewarming in India.
9) As you read TGV Inspiring Lives Volume 2 is in progress — This time, co-author(s) will be different and kept a secret for now :)
10) Was able to work out every single day — health is wealth.
11) Over 450 guests across 30 countries have applied to be a guest speaker on TGV
TGV Hindi is coming soon and you may expect it in Q1 2023. If you are interested in being part of my journey. Please DM me. There are tons of opportunities for those who are committed and can spare time (most importantly — who want to stand out from the crowd).
The purpose of this post is to remind everyone that success will not give enough kick if it comes sooner.
Patience, Persistence, Perseverance, Passion, and most importantly believing in oneself are very very important.
Never make excuses — just do things with grit and determination.
Success is not final and failure is not fatal
Tons of gratitude to the entire universe for making 2022 one of the best years in my life and
am looking forward to a great 2023(and beyond). And wish you all the same!
