9 Simple tips for effective and impactful communication
Have you ever presumed that your audience understood what you said even before taking feedback from them?

Undoubtedly communication has been the most important skill to succeed in everything we do and will forever be!

Let’s start with the basics of communication:
According to Merriam Webster “Communication is the act or process of using words, sounds, signs, or behaviors to express or exchange information or to express your ideas, thoughts, feelings, etc., to someone else.”
Anything which conveys an idea is communication.
And if you get your ideas to the recipient, you did it effectively!
Inspired by our conversation with Sowmya Narayanan part of #TGV46, we would like to share 9 most simple, time proven tips for and communication in this post.
If your communication skills are good, you can RULE the world. Anything is possible through Effective communication, even one can establish peace among countries by clearly articulating thoughts.
Effective communication doesn’t mean speaking posh English using great vocabulary but the ability to convey what you intend to using simple words
And now you know why They say KISS (Keep It Simple Silly)!

#2: Take Action
Purpose of the most business communications is to take action.
1. Your idea has to be heard by others and actions must be taken based on it.
2. You also have to listen to others and take action against them.
“If you would persuade, you must appeal to interest rather than intellect”
Learn from leaders that are inspiring you to take actions through their wonderful communication.
#3 Listen more:
By nature’s design, We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.

#5: Chose the right Mode of communication
The oral form of communication is better when the communications need to be quick and flexible, but the written form of communication is much better when you want your audience to understand and retain the details.
It is always better to write something that uplifts other spirits.
A simple hand written thank you note might help you win the hears of people that you work with!
But remember, never write a letter while you are angry!
The intent of the communication is the deciding factor here. So chose the best one as appropriate!

1. Brevity — Write less and say more by unleashing the power of brevity)
Less is more
2. Clarity — Avoid ambiguous and confusing words/statements. Follow the KISS principle(Tip#1 above😊)
3. Impactful — deliver meaningful messages to inspire change
By embracing these three golden rules of communication in your communication, you will embark on your journey of becoming a great speaker!
#7 Practice, Practice and Practice
There’s no better technique than practice for achieving perfection and getting better
1. Practice and more practice. Communicate without hesitation. Keep it a rule that you speak to your near ones or friends only in English when conversing with them. Even if you don’t speak well in the beginning — its okay. Cos you are surrounded by your people!
2. Learn to project your ideas in multiple ways, this will help in making people understand your ideas better.
3. Clear thoughts lead to clear communications. First be clear in what you want to achieve through the conversation!
